Howell's was originally established as a vacuum cleaner business in 1952 and has been in Auburn since 1981.

Howell's Sewing and Vacuum has been a staple in the Sierra Foothill's for over a decade. MaryLynn Matthews came to Howell's in September of 2005 with an extensive background in the sewing industry and over 30 years of quilting experience. MaryLynn and Precious (the new addition) look forward to helping you.

Howell's continues to carry the brands of vacuums and sewing machines they've built their reputation around. The entire staff at Howell's enjoys solving floor-care challenges as well as sewing conundrums. If you have never experienced the benefits of owning a high-quality vacuum just ask anyone who owns a Miele or Riccar, or better yet stop by for a demonstration and find out how you can improve the air quality in your home.

When you purchase a new sewing/embroidery machine from us, free classes are included. If you already own your own machine come enjoy one of our (or more) classes or seminars we offer at the store. For a schedule stop by the store and pickup a printed catalog or see the schedule on this web site.

For the avid quilter you will be glad to know that we are a proud dealer of the Handi-Quilter Sixteen. This machine is available for rent by the hour and free for use to community service groups.
